Overview
The Costwolds are well known for their pretty historic towns and Tetbury is no exception, with most of the town’s buildings dating from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
The town is known as an architectural gem as many of the wool merchants houses still look as they did 300 years ago. Tetbury is well known for its 25 antique shops and its close proximity to Prince Charles’s residence of Highgrove.
The town has a wonderful variety of shops including many specialist shops offering a wide choice. Many of the shops are individually owned where you will receive personal attention of the owner and experience a level of service long since vanished from many high streets.
Photography Suggestions
There are wonderful opportunities to capture the splendour of the Cotswolds from merchant houses to splendid views across the hills and rivers. The bustling market town provides lots of opportunities for street photography in its winding streets. Make sure you also visit the disused railyard if you like industrial architecture.
